- "When my husband and I decided to build a custom home we
spent many weekends at home shows looking for new and innovative ideas. He
noticed the Lighted Landings display at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show and
picked up a brochure. Initially, I laughed at him because he just loves
"gadgets". Well, he talked me into using the lighted newels in our new home. I
just LOVE them. They give such a warm, inviting glow and everyone who visits us
notices and remarks about them. Not only do they look great, but they provide an
added measure of safety on the stairs. Ours are on a solar sensor and they take
care of themselves. Since they use a standard wedge base bulb, there's nothing
special to purchase and changing the bulbs is very simple. Our contractor had
never seen these before but once installed, he was also convinced that this was
a great purchase. I have to admit, they do look great and I'm glad I let my

I have 60% of my railing up and balusters installed...they look fantastic! The rest will get put in next week when I return.
